I can trace my artistic ability in my lineage going back to my grandfather who was a blacksmith in Latvia who created art in iron. I had a career teaching art and for the last thirteen years, I have devoted myself full time to working on my art.
I strive for truth in my art and I portray the sensuality and eroticism that is exuded by the models. For me, these aspects are intertwined.
I work from life whether I do figures or landscapes.
I use the finest quality paints to achieve vibrant color.
The surface I use is polypropylene, which is especially challenging. My process enables me to think as a sculptor would in that I am building the forms on that material.
